Deakin University Library hosts this site in support of scholarly open access publishing at Deakin University.
In the first instance Open Journals at Deakin will provide access to a limited number of academic journals published by Faculties in association with the Library. An invitation for additional journals may be approved following completion of the pilot project.
The Library provides electronic access to the journal and a secure archive for the content. Faculties remain the publishers of the journal and will be responsible for management and administration, and for journal content.
Prior to publication on the site an agreement between the Library and the Faculty needs to be completed. A checklist has been developed to assist faculty journal managers and editors to set up a new journal using this platform.
Advice on copyright has been obtained from the Deakin University Copyright Officer and sample wording options is provided for use in "set up" to display to authors and readers.
