Vol. 9 No. 2 (2024): Persona and Inter(face)
Persona & Inter(face) logo

This special issue explores the intersection between persona, face, and interface as an encounter that is labelled inter(face). The phenomenon of inter(face) is tackled from an interdisciplinary stance as the submissions drawn together in the issue span across the fields of film, image studies, visual culture, digital culture and media, art history, as well as philosophy. Themes included in the issue view persona and inter(face) from empathetic encounters in video games and art installations to deceptive masks worn in film. The notion of inter(face) is also transposed to non-human personas, including our interfacing with dogs and the performances of Victorian gentlemanly personas via casebook photographs.
