Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

As an open access journal, we are committed to promoting the highest standards of publication ethics and preventing any form of malpractice in the research publication process. Our editorial team, authors, and reviewers must adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Authorship and Originality: All authors must ensure that their work is original and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or manipulation of data is considered unethical and unacceptable. All authors must agree to the final version of the manuscript and take responsibility for its content.

  2. Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their work or its interpretation. Such conflicts may include financial, personal, or academic relationships that may impact the research.

  3. Peer Review Process: We use a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the research published in our journal. All manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent experts in the field. The reviewers' identities are kept confidential, and authors are encouraged to provide a list of potential reviewers. Reviewers are expected to provide objective and constructive feedback to improve the manuscript's quality.

  4. Editorial Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final decision on manuscript acceptance, rejection, or revision. The decision is based on the scientific merit of the research, the quality of the manuscript, and its relevance to the scope of the journal.

  5. Corrections and Retractions: In case of errors or inaccuracies discovered in published articles, we will publish corrections or retractions as soon as possible. We will investigate any allegations of research misconduct and take appropriate action if necessary.

  6. Copyright: TESOL in Context maintains copyright for published articles, through the Australian Council of TESOL Associations.
